Today I am going to tell you about another cosy coastal town named Carlingford, which is located in Northern side of County Louth, Ireland. As for me, this town is the most beautiful town in County Louth, because it is located in the mountains and near Irish Sea, which is absolutely gorgeous combination of the nature. Carlingford is the main town on the Cooley Peninsula. Furthermore, Carlingford is located just in 11 km south of the border with Northern Ireland.

In this town the main tourist attraction is a King John's Castle. It is an extensive ruin seated on a solid rock - the sides of which are enclosed by the sea. It looks magnificent.

Carlingford has lots of sports attraction, an example hiking, biking, boating, windsurfing and kayaking. Moreover, there is placed Carlingford-Omeath Greenway along the shore of Carlingford Lough. With five different access points along the Greenway's route between Omeath and Carlingford it is possible to choose both the distance and time that you wish to spend walking or cycling. Furthermore, the Greenway will take you alongside fields full of grazing sheep, cattle and horses, through old railway level crossings and even a few bridges with plenty of old railway era gateposts and gates still in situ. As for me, to person who likes all kind of sports activity it is absolutely delightful town.

Carlingford has lots of good restaurants with a fresh sea food and Irish pubs. Moreover, it is a popular place to celebrate stag-party and hen-party. Therefore, I think that everybody can find something interesting to visit Carlingford.
